Concert: Hope for Acceptance and Peace

September 30, 2023 @ 7:00 pm

Harpist – Miriam Kessler

Beethoven’s Egmont Overture depicts the overthrow of the Spanish out of what is today the Benelux Countries in the 1600s. The uprising of the Flemish peoples to throw out the Spanish is one of the most exciting endings in all of music! The second half of the program will feature Peter Tchaikovsky’s monumental Symphony #5. This is one of the most exciting of all symphonies!

Next will be Concerto for Harp and Orchestra, by Gliere, featuring award winning harpist, Miriam Kessler, who is currently a student at the Cleveland Institute of Music. This is a rare chance to hear the beautiful sounds of harp.
